Safe parking spaces at a reasonable price. Swift check, greeted in a friendly and warm way. Excellent spacious room. Welcomed by manager in shape of some treats & hand written card. Fridge with water plenty of refreshments hydration station. Really comfortable beds so cosy. Had a peaceful and refreshing night's sleep after a bubble bath. Minimal noise over both night's.

Just returned from the three night Christmas package. This is our third year spending Christmas at the Wessex. As always, it is great value for money, the food is excellent and plentiful and the staff are very friendly and obliging. We had a very comfortable twin room with views of the Cathedral and had everything we needed plus a complementary bottle of wine and huge box of chocolates. We hope to return for Christmas 2025.

We meet up monthly as a group of friends at this central hotel. So easy to get to, staff are friendly , obliging and coffee delicious and reasonable. It warm, peaceful and we are able spend a good hour to two catching up without being distracted. It really is worth trying this hotel even if only two of you.
