In the heart of the Northamptonshire countryside, if you’re craving culture, aching to get some steps in or just wanting to relax with a glass of wine or two you’ve come to the right place
A Grand day-out
If you can’t get enough of the elegance of Sedgebrook Hall – you can bask in the sophistication a little longer at one of Northamptonshire’s manor houses. Visit the Spencer family home at Althorp Estate or try something a little unconventional at 78 Derngate – the only house in England designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Marvel at the Orangery and small Animal Menagerie at Castle Ashby Gardens or take a guided tour around Delapre Abbey.
Streets & Shows
After a slow morning in the pool, treat yourself to some retail therapy at Grosvenor Shopping centre in Northampton for all your high-street needs. For a more independent feel, head over to St Giles Street winner of the Great British High Street competition in 2015. Soak up some culture at The Northampton Museum and Art Gallery before catching a show at the Royal & Derngate Theatre. If dinner and entertainment are more your thing, dine at Nuovo for Venetian small plates before watching some live music at The Deco – a 1930s cinema renovated in an Art Deco style!
Long walks on the grass
Immerse yourself in the Northampton country with some refreshing and picturesque walks. For a shorter journey, take the Sedgebrook Hall on-site wellness walk for a lap around the grounds and its woodlands. For something a little longer, try Upton Country Park. With complimentary parking and a mini market, you’ll be set for an enjoyable day among nature. If you don’t mind a little drive, make sure to visit Twywell Hills and Dales – a nature reserve in Kettering.

A great dog-friendly hotel. This was a great find. Super dog-friendly hotel, lovely grounds at the hotel and at the railway station next door. Staff were really helpful and friendly from booking through to check-out. Restaurant menu was varied and the food was delicious (hint - try the lemon sole, it was beautifully cooked and the potatoes that came with it were super)

A wonderful hotel for a family reunion! The staff were amazing nothing was too much trouble for them. They were courteous and friendly. The food was delicious and timely presented to accomodate our other party of ten. The rooms were clean, tidy and well presented. Access was restricted for rollator or wheelchair users.
