Beckenham has lots of things to see and do whether you’re stopping a day or for the weekend. Bethlem Museum of the Mind is one of its most visited spots in Beckenham and offers an extensive history of mental health and recovery along with interesting, free exhibitions of artwork and research - all housed within gorgeous Art Deco architecture. Kelsey Park offers serene surroundings for morning and afternoon walks while the Croydon Road Recreation Ground has a range of sports facilities for those who want to get a game going and a cafe for those who want to watch.

Blackheath is almost a hidden treasure, with its rolling green landscapes and historic castles seldom seen in other areas around London. Blackheath Common provides a huge open space you can walk or cycle around - perfect for the long journeys with loved ones on a sunny afternoon. Vanbrugh Park also has its own church, St John’s Blackheath, on the way to the adjoining Greenwich Park, while the Church of Ascension can be found further in and holds regular events in its function room.

From the iconic Electric Avenue to the Ritzy Cinema, there are loads of attractions, not to mention a huge choice of cafes and restaurants. The area still celebrates its Caribbean roots and there is music playing regularly across Brixton Market along with the intoxicating aromas of the street food, as well as the indoor village of Pop Brixton.
