Lovely building with plenty of history. The staff were all very friendly, helpful and informative in Reception, Room cleaners, spa and gym area and the lovely lady keeping the ' Fables ' staircase wood carvings in beautiful condition,and the bar and dining staff ( who dealt with an incident quietly courteously and professionally). The food was good quality and my husband was Very happy with the great breakfast, the selection and quality.

We had a lovely time this was very good value for money, we added a birthday balloon package to the room and spritz drink package in the room. The hotel bar was lovely, staff were very helpful, breakfast was fresh and plenty of choice. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean overall this was a lovely stay.

Superb hotel and spa was amazing. Given an upgrade without even asking and thorougly enjoyed the whole stay. Went to the spa both days and meal in the brasserie was gorgeous. Free glass of prosecco in the terrace and enjoyed it so much booked again for next month.

My only fault as I loved our stay and will definitely be back. But matress was unbelievably soft and we were given disabled room with shower not a bath.

We really enjoyed our spa stay and afternoon tea at Thornton Hall. My friedn requires gluten free food and this was provided to a very high standard. The staff were friendly and helpful and the spa facilities were exceptionally clean. I would happily recommend this to my friends and family

Lovely overnight stay, very relaxing. What a lovely overnight stay at the Thornton Hall Hotel and Spa, from the welcoming arrival at reception, to the room, bar and the spa everything was spot on, we had a lovely time for a good price too. Every member of the team we encountered were so friendly and helpful.

Once again an excellent break at THornton Hall Hotel- We stay here fairly regularly when in need of some cosseting. We are always welcomed and made to feel nothing would be too much trouble. Wherever you choose to dine, restaurant or bistro, the food is beautifully prepared, imaginative and served with a smile. The ambience throughout the hotel lends itself to a relaxing stay. The spa is wonderful whether you indulge in the various treatments available or relax poolside. It’s one of our favourite places to stay.

Bedroom was a damp smell. However when we got into bed we wasn't prepared for the level of discomfort, the mattress was so poor it had springs sticking out,it was practically feeling like you were in an hole in the bed. Even more disgusting were the bed bugs that irritated my eyes and flared up like an allergy. Do not stay here as when we told the receptionist I was asked to email manager when clearly in this situation something should be done.
